For over 40 years, Covenant Shelter has been a supportive neighbor in Southeastern Connecticut, providing safe shelter and resources to homeless adults and families.

Our shelter offers 38 beds, with additional capacity available during winter and emergencies. This includes 14 dorm-style beds for adult men and 24 beds across six family rooms, with rooms accommodating families of varying sizes. On average, we serve 42 clients each month.

Accessing our services is simple. All of our clients are referred through the Coordinated Access Network (CAN) via 2-1-1, with local agencies, shelters, CAN hubs, the United Way, and our website also helping connect people to our services.

There are minimal barriers for entry. Adults and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness can access our services without program participation requirements, sobriety requirements, or fees. Safety expectations are reviewed at intake, and we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol on-site.

Conveniently located in downtown New London with access to public transportation, Covenant Shelter is committed to providing safe, inclusive, and respectful services to everyone who walks through out doors.
